I use the keyboard when I'm just making maps or screwing around, but when I get serious I pull out my ancient gamepad.
So keyboard or xbox control?

I'm kinda new to the forums and whatnot, so please, be patient if I'm going against some unwritten rules here.
I use the keyboard, because I'm a PC gamer. I DO have a PC game controller though, similar to the Playstation ones, but only my friends use it when playing with me. Keyboard all the wayyyyyy.

Why are keyboard and xbox controllers the only options?
I use a playstation controller.
No, not PS3.
Lol, no not PS2.
Um, no not a standard PS1 with the dual analog sticks.
That's right. One of the original ones that doesn't even have analog sticks.
It goes into my computer with a PS to USB adapter that costed 4 dollars.
Works perfectly and had exactly enough buttons for Cobalt if you assign another key to jump rather than just up as well as sneak and stuff. (Well, one extra button. but still)
I will say, hooking a controller up to Cobalt is a freaking pain oh my god.
Never seen a more complicated interface for controllers. After you realize how it's set up, sure it makes sense. Maybe it's like this in other games. It's much more simple to set up controls for things like an emulator.
But I had like two profiles on and it became a mess. I went to USB standard and set up the buttons, but when I tried it all different buttons were being used for things. And it seemed to keep resetting the buttons.
Finally saw that in your actual profile you have to change the type of preset you're using.
After figuring that out, it's fine.. but it was quite a pain. Especially when getting those game-crashing errors here and there.
Hope to see the controller interface a lot more user friendly in the future.

I say the controller. Mostly its because you don't have to ackwardly position your fingers all over the keyboard, plus the controllers are very responsive and easy to understand.

...what? Person, I was amazed by the system they use. I plugged in a controller while Cobalt was ALREADY open. I pressed a button. The menu came up, I logged my profile and set it for USB standard. AND IT WORKED. I felt like my computer had just leapt thousands of years into the future.
I guess first impressions are important. If you just happen to get it right from the start the system is like God would have built it... if he wasn't so dysfunctional, but if you mess up and struggle and cry over it then...
Yeah, you might dislike the system afterwards. I guess the thing is that the system is VERY different from typical pc games and if you are used to things like emulators then it's a different world.
Back on topic and out of space, I like my game pads. A lot. Really. I would swear to show just how much I cannot stand prosaic keyboards but I'm not so vulgar.

I would use my Xbox controller but my wired one is broke and I don't have a wireless reciever. So keyboard when I get the game (not got it yet because migration system is not working)
