Magic has finally arrived in the World of Cobalt!

This Mod currently adds 4 Spells to the game:

Fireball:

The Player creates a flaming sphere that once launched burns enemies that come into its way to death.

Heal:

This Spell creates a stream of energy that slowly refills the Player´s health.

Shield:

The Player creates a defensive Aura that repulses oncoming Objects.

Posted Image
Aura of Heat:

The Player creates an invasive Aura that heats up all nearby enemies until they explode.



Installation:

- Install Bene´s Modloader
- Put Magic.lua and Magic.dat into your "mods" folder
- Start the game
- Open up the Modloader window (F8) and enable the Magic mod
- Enjoy

How to use:

- Enter the game and start any Map
- Press "C" (or the key you set for sneaking) to change the Spell
- Press "X" (or the key you set for Use/Attack) while your weapon is set to your Fist to use the selected Spell

looks good, very impressive... but a little OP? maybe have a setting to make it so you have to, say, use volts as mana or what not? (If that is possible)

Well I planned to add spells used by your enemys to make it more difficult but that has to wait till one of the next updates ;)

Finally, a mod that can actually be called a mod! Looks good, but how do you use the spells? By punching?

Incredible!!

Magic-only Deathmatches with friends could be very fun :3. Does it work with multiple controllers?


Offtopic:
I'm quite sure the one-word rule is just to prevent people from writing "cool", "ok" etc. in threads just to spam/boost postcount. There is no point in writing extra words to make a post not be a one-word post - you don't add any real content to the post, so that's just even more spam.

A simple "Yes" to a yes/no question is fine in my opinion - short and nice, the asker gets his answer.

Its not working for multiple players or deathmatch/ctf yet :(

But im working on that and its definetely number 1 on my to-do list for this mod

This is so awesome. Just find a way to limit Wizard!Cobalt's power and it will be perfect! I would suggest one of several things:
-use volts as mana
-have a mana pickup that works as "ammo"
-implement a recharge time or
-make us have to buy spells at shops

Perhaps combine those, so we have to buy the spell and then have a recharge time and/or have to us ammo/volts. That would really nerf magic, but it needs nerfing. Anyway, that's my two cents, and I love this mod!

edit: oops! it has a recharge! I like the way different spells have different times.
edit2: hm. I can't get the mod to work with a gamepad. Is anyone else having this problem?

has there been any progress on this mod? i was just testing it out and the mod only seems to work with a keyboard right now and not a USB or xbox controller

Wow! First of all, that's pretty bad-ass. Second, although I'm not saying the thumbnails for the spells are bad, is there any way to change them to fit the theme a little better?
