I'm really wondering whether I like the shadow covering where you can't see. It just doesn't seem to fit, that is just my opinion though. It looks like a nice map though.

I guess I mainly did that because I was being lazy, I didn't want to spend time on making random patterns in the mountain side, making it look random and instead wanted to spend that time making the map better, being able to think a bit more :P I actually quite like it though, IMO it fits in which the night-time style of the map (I made it dark using a strange technique, it is not a nightime set :/)

If you wanted it dark, why did you not just move the position on the galaxy editor by changing location? :o

because I didn't want it dark, then when I felt that the background sort of clashed with the rest of the map, made it look sort of empty, I decided to go around trying to do something, which turned out different but gave it a nice dark feel, so I dimmed down the rest of the layers which hadn't already been (mainly the foliage layers :P)

its just a layer of transparent black tiles at the very back of the attached layers...

EDIT:
the transparent black tiles were ment to make it look as if it was more of a crator than a valley so that it seemed like the walls on either side of you streched round the back of the map aswell, then it created the effect in the map currently and I just tweaked it a bit and stuck with it :P
